Zhanyi Hu was born in Shanxi province, P. R. China in 1961. He
received his B.S. Degree in Automation from the North China
University of Technology in 1985, the Ph.D. Degree (Docteur d'Etat)
in Computer Vision from the University of Liege, Belgium, in Jan.
1993. Since 1993, he has been with the Institute of Automation,
Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he is now a Professor.
His research interests include:
(1) Biologically inspired vision modeling;
(2) 3D computer vision;
(3) 3D perception from SAR images.
Dr. Hu received the Natioanl Natural Science Award of China in 2004 ( The second Category).
Dr. Hu is a deputy editor-in-chief for The Chinese Journal of CAD and Graphics. He was a member of the Advisory Committee of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a member of the Executive Committee of the National High-Tech R&D Program (863 Program). He was the local co-chair of the ICCV2005, Program Co-chair of the ACCV2012.
